The upcoming Wikipedia Workshop at Department of Media and Communication, Royal University of Phnom Penh, is an outreach event where workshop participants will be introduced to the basics of Wikipedia and how to go about editing it. Wikipedia's sister projects such as Commons, Wiktionary, Wikisource, WikiVoyage etc. will also be brought into focus. Participants will be introduced to Wikipedia's conventions on identifying and using reliable sources for writing encyclopedic articles on Wikipedia. This is aimed at promoting a culture of scholarship among students at institutions of higher learning, young researchers and professionals.

Apart from being the world's largest encyclopedia, Wikipedia also features in the top 5 websites of the world in terms of traffic.  If you are someone who is interested in knowing more about how Wikipedia works and how thousands of editors, contributors and volunteers support the development of content and the project's eco-system, please register using the form below immediately as we only have limited seats available for this event.  You can also reach us here, if you have any queries: anirudh [at] mekongresearch [dot] org.

This event is supported by the Wikimedia Foundation and hosted by the Department of Media and Communication at the Royal University of Phnom Penh.
